2007 Substantial Issuer Bid

As announced on October 5, 2006, MDS plans to use CAD$500 million of the proceeds from the sale of the MDS Diagnostics Services business to fund a substantial issuer bid in the form of a Dutch auction after the close of the MDS Diagnostic Services transaction.
